It's late, I'm tired, but I can't sleep 'cuz my tummy's weird. Chocolate cake and Chai tea should *not* do this to a person. Blah. So, instead, here I am, still online at this late hour, idling through Harry Potter fanfic and researching degrees in library science.
I am come to the realization that library science degree programs are much more complicated than I ever knew. Either that or I'm so tired that none of this stuff is making any coherent sense. Am I crazy to believe that degrees in library science are different from MA or MS in library science, which are different from degrees in library and information science?
The latter two seem much more concerned with the technical aspect to things---that is, creating databases, organizing card catalogue-type things, etc. I expected this stuff to be a good portion of the degree, but since I want to be a children's librarian, I thought there'd also be a lot of coursework on the the subject I want to specialize in. Oy. Maybe I need to make friends with a librarian and just *ask* them.
In addition to this frustration, I am suffering the worst case of Itchy Fingers. I want---really, really, really badly---to put ink to page...or fingers to keyboard, as the case may be. Normally when I'm Itchy, I'm also inspired, encouraged by something I've read or seen or felt, and it's easy to choose a story to dabble about in.
Not this time, though. Nope. None of my works in progress are appealing, and on top of that, I'm feeling oddly discouraged about my writing ability at the moment. As though, were I to try writing in any of my WIPs, I'd dribble dreadful nonsense into the narrative. Anyone want to give me a writing challenge? A bitty something to get my squeaky wheels moving again?
Bother.
And now there's a line of wicked thunderstorms moving through the area. Chocolate, Chai tea, and much scary wind does not a good Wee Sma's make. ::whimper:: I'm gonna go hide under my covers now....
