If you were to wrap yourself up in a song, would it be stiff, crimping like cardboard around you? Or cool and clinging and shiny, like aluminum foil? There's a bit of song that keeps running through my head---lonely and wistful, as I'm feeling right now, but with a hopeful sort of warmth into which I wish I could burrow deep and hide for a while. But every time I think about it, all I can imagine is that the notes would warp around the shape of my body, chiming disarray and irritation as I try to curl up inside them.
