Technically it's not even tomorrow yet. Bother. But I've just figured out what Mary Sue I am. Er. That is, I've just *picked* what Mary Sue I wanted to be. Lemme 'splain. Many fanfiction authors write themselves into the fandom(s) they adore as original characters. These characters are so utterly perfect that they are instantly recognizable as the author's alter-ego...and so ubiquitous they've actually earned a name for themselves: Mary Sue. An author writing a Mary Sue is usually new, often young, and---sadly---almost universally snickered at. For all that, the Mary Sues themselves are something of an enjoyable inside joke.

There's a website where a click in various categories randomly assigns you a Mary Sue persona. Sooo... ::batting eyelashes and striking pose::

My name is Gabriella Ravenwing. I have Golden Cerulean eyes---that Change Color!---and hair the color of Abundant Bronze. You may also know me by the scent of Midnight Gardenia wafting in my wake, although it's far more likely you've seen me on the news. You see, not only am I a Foreign Attache, I can See the Future. Which, believe you me, has caused no end of trouble as I attempt to pursue my Studies under Methos' Tutelage. Oh. Didn't I mention? I'm Immortal....

That is so *fun*! Especially since the first fanfiction I wrote, before I knew such a thing existed, was about an Immortal woman, Julia---although her current identity was Gabrielle Renata---with sea green eyes, hair the color of wheat, and an Ancient History with that Snarkiest of Immortals, Methos. What can I say? I was new, young, with a crush the size of Africa on Peter Wingfield. I never finished the fic...but I admit---unashamedly---to occasionally going back and rewriting it.

What?! Peter Wingfield's a helluva Inspiration. ;)
