Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is now officially on my reading list. And, yes, that *is* because I saw the movie, I'm afraid. Some book-purist I am. ...Although, come to think of it, I'm not much of a book-purist at all. Huh. At any rate, the movie was so delightfully odd, I figured the book was well worth checking into. My favorite part? While the opening montage was lovely---*must* get a copy of that song---the bit with the improbability drive was the deciding scene:

"Ford?"
"Yeah?"
"I think I'm a sofa...."
[pause] "I know how you feel...."

Haha!

But this is not the only discovery I have made recently. For a while now, I've been wondering about the purpose of crediting the creator of a lj icon in user picture comments. How on earth is one to see them, after all? THIS is how, apparently. And all I have to do is plug in any username at the end of the URL and All Is Revealed. Amazing! The world just keeps unfolding like a flower. :)

And have any of you seen Turning the Pages? If you're interested in rare manuscripts (including medieval/renaissance art, Vesalius' anatomy, Arabic calligraphy, and more), take a look. The scans are very high-quality, and you can even magnify them for a closer look. Remarkable. Beautiful.
