the case of the feverish flat!
My apartment defies logic. And perhaps all laws of space and/or time.

Here is the situation. The heat in my building will not turn on until the outside temperature drops below 50 degrees or so. Given that it has been unseasonably warm here lately, this has not occurred. And even should the heat turn on, my thermostat is turned down so low that, technically, it shouldn't bother to heat my apartment at all. In addition to this, I left the bathroom window open last night to air the place out a bit, dropping the temperature in my apartment a very slight few degrees.

Today when I came home from work, my thermostat---and my body---informed me that the apartment was a balmy 82 degrees. How is this possible? No stove burners were left on. The oven was safely off. As was the heat. We had steady mist from overcast skies all day. And I'm on the first floor. All my heat should be escaping to the apartment upstairs. What is going on?

Do I have a dragon sleeping in the scant space between my floor and the ground? Is the refrigerator heating the entire apartment? Are all laws of thermodynamics suspended within my walls?
