Sometimes when I'm putting on lipstick, I'll have the strangest feeling that I'm watching my dad put on lipstick instead of myself. I mean, I look a lot like him, especially as I get older, but that's just not what I want to be thinking as I'm trying to beautify. And when this happens, there's always a surreal moment when I look up from lining my lips and expect to see my dad looking back at me from the mirror, eyes alarmed and confused and not digging the color I've chosen.
