of death and sunlight
How are you doing today, Sev? Any new artwork from your son to add to the collection on the walls? ::papery flap:: Oooh. Very nice. Is that...you and him harvesting wolf's-bane? Aw, look at the little tiny gloves you're both wearing. He's going to be such a good potions student! Certainly better than me: I know I am a deep disappointment to you in that regard.

But I'm so good at finding quizzes, surely it more than makes up for it. ...Don't make that face. Just. Fork over the parchments. ::parchments unrolling with a snap::

Sun Summoner

Part of a Holy Order, you have the ability to summon and control sunlight. You bring brightness with you everywhere you go, inspiring some and blinding others. Community-focused, you find a niche for yourself anywhere you go and are determined to root out any evil in your life.
What Grisha Order Are You?

I haven't read these books or seen the Netflix series, but all you really have to do is wave a series of magic departments in front of my face and I'll want to know to which department I'd belong. This result is pretty much what I expected I'd get: I do root out evil in my life and try to focus on community, yes, but I've known since reading Robin McKinley's Sunshine that my superpower/source of superpower energy is sunlight. This just confirms the same is true irrespective of fictional magic system.

Halfling

I couldn't quite figure them out. They were sort of half light and half dark. Beautiful in a frightening sort of way and vice versa—it was unnatural, as well. Too beautiful and too frightening. I was almost expecting glowing eyes and sharp teeth. In the back of my head, I sort of wondered if they were planning on killing me just for the aesthetic of it. They didn't. I think they did steal my ring, though. That was alright. I would've given them anything they asked for, to be honest. It was just something about them.
Hang out with me and I'll say what I'd tell my friends about you

Hahahaha, what a perfect balance between the previous quiz and the next one! Also, that "beautiful in a frightening sort of way and vice versa" kinda feels like my aesthetic. Or it would if you threw in something whimsical or silly. I'm not sure I would actually strike anyone with either beauty or horror, and I'm quite sure I wouldn't murder anyone just for the look of it—what a tremendous waste!—but I can see myself taking on this kind of persona in, say, a role-playing game or something. And I'm absolutely drawn to the Sidhe, Hecate, Hades, psychopomps, and other beings that blend an unearthly appeal with a sort of unpredictable danger. (Except vampires. See above love of sunlight to explain that one.)

Death and the Maiden

A personification of death (or some other powerful and potentially dangerous immortal being) falls for a mortal girl who perseveres in spite of human frailty. Their story may include a katabasis, a literal or figurative trip to the underworld. Some examples: Morozko and Vasilisa from the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden, Eros and Psyche, Carmilla and Laura in the Carmilla web series, Haku and Chihiro from Spirited Away, Gavriel and Tana from The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
answer some questions and i’ll assign you a type of fictional romance <333

Yes, thank you! I adore this type of romance. Eros Cupid and Psyche! Haku and Chihiro! Jareth and Sarah! Sunshine and Constantine from McKinley's Sunshine! Hades and Persephone! The relationship doesn't even have to be romantic, honestly: I just love the idea of a being that has experienced untold years of loneliness or isolation in their world-beyond-the-world discovering or being discovered by someone whose mortality brings freshness or compassion. The way their strengths and frailties echo or complement one another and forge something bright and complex and ageless and hopeful—I love it! ...Probably explains my friendship with Sev, now that I think about it.
