Whew! ::flutters parchment:: All right. So this whole quizzes-centered-around-family-and-friends notion is a lot harder than anticipated. Today I'm focusing on my brothers-in-law, Dragon and Lobo, and a decade ago, finding quizzes centered around their interests would've been effortless. Clearly, that glorious time has passed.
I managed to find a handful that work, but they are not quite what I was hoping for. Also, I need a drink. Sev, care to work some mixology magic over there? ::clunk and chime of phials and glasses:: Thank you! While I await a cocktail, I shall leave you with today's quizzes...make of them what you will!
Starting off with something for Dragon! I have no knowledge of this programming language, so I can't speak to any broader implications for this being my result. But I do like the commentary on being judgy and needing to loosen up while also being efficient, ambitious, and simple-in-a-good-way. I feel as if those traits do often go together in people, but I'm not sure I'm one of them. I could see judgy, simple-in-a-good way, and in need of some loosening up. I could even see efficient. But ambitious? Meh. If I have an ambition, it's to continue to learn and grow and become a better person as I get older. ...I wonder what the programming language equivalent of that would be.
Next, a quiz for both Dragon and Lobo! I did my best to match the result's description to an online photo, and I dig it. Couldn't wear it, but I like it! Also, what is it with these quizzes' ambitions for me? If I don't want to be number one in the world, I definitely don't want to fight God. But the short monarch and tired art student energy? I could see that: I'm both an older sister and a poorly paid librarian-who-wants-to-write-things, after all. And I would absolutely wear hot pink and black nails, though my favorite color to wear is dark grey. Seemingly dismal, I know, but surprisingly authoritative and unconventional. (Short monarch! Tired art student! Hurrah!)
And last, a quiz (mostly) for Lobo. I tried so hard to find a quiz that would assign you a sport based on your personality, but they were all pretty terrible. Instead, I went with one that seriously suggests sports you might enjoy. And honestly, this is pretty spot-on in its description of how I think about exercise, and I'm feeling pretty validated in my choices of past and possible future sports. I'd still be doing yoga if my wrists would cooperate with sustained floor work; I want to take some weight training classes at my local rec center; I have plans to track down some free line-dancing classes, if they exist; and I walk regularly—when it's not so hot outside, anyway. The only thing I've enjoyed that's missing from my results is hiking. I'm also tickled that they list identifying and solving problems as a sport. This means I am much, much more active than I give myself credit for. ;)
