such a tree full of flowers

I was expecting a leisurely final day of the Week of the Killer Quizzes, and instead, I've been running around, voting and going to library book sales and grocery shopping and watching a program with wild(ish) birds. Though to be fair, all of that probably would've felt less intense if I had gotten up before 11:30.

The fault for that lies entirely with BTS, whose Festa this year included a livestream of three of their concerts. I wasn't able to stay up for all three, but I was awake until 3:30am watching most of them. I regret nothing! ...But it does mean I'm a little late posting today's quizzes.

The theme for this last day is my sisters and me: specifically, things that connect to our childhood. Since I'm so late, Sev has kicked off for the day. He's here, but he has a cocktail in hand and insists he's too busy supervising as his son pretends to brew potions—got to correct the bad habits early!—to help. He has, however, offered to make me a cocktail as soon as I'm done here, so.... ::crisp crackle of parchment:: Enjoy the quizzes whilst I answer the siren song of bourbon and bitters!

History Is Made at Night

A KISS and HISTORY IS MADE AT NIGHT. A romantic headwaiter fights to save a woman from her possessive ex-husband.
Which One of My Favorite Old Hollywood Movies Are You?

Not a movie I've seen, so I can't comment, but I shall add it to my to-watch list. It sounds appropriately noir for my taste, though my own favorite old Hollywood movies are the cheesy romantic ones. And musicals. (Especially the cheesy romantic ones.) ...But if that mention of "A KISS" is also a movie, perhaps these two films are more romantic than I'm expecting? ::scribbles them down:: I shall investigate!

Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)

Everything you do is out of love. You're extremely perceptive and in-tune with how the people around you are feeling. This is a skill you use only for good, taking people's feelings into consideration before you act. You can be lost in the clouds sometimes, and find it easy to get carried away with a fantasy, but you just want what's best for everyone, and what's wrong with that?
Which Disney Princess Are You But For Real?

Huh. I tend to identify most with Belle and Rapunzel for their curiosity and hunger for adventure, but I could see this, especially given the blend of love and dreaminess in the result. I don't think I'm extremely perceptive, but I do want people to feel seen and valued, and since I spent most of my first 30+ years being extremely focused on my own internal experiences, I try much harder now to take others' perspectives and feelings into consideration. And I do love Aurora's hair. And her prince—Phillip is awesome!

Jewel

You are capable of both soft-spoken gentleness and great fierceness. You are steadfast even against great odds, and not easily taken in by falsehood. Your nobility is an example to those around you. You do not make friends easily, but would go to the ends of the earth for those who have your friendship. You are eloquent in word and noble in demeanor.
Which Narnian Are You?

Whoa. Yeah. That feels like me. And not, I think, just stuff I tell myself about myself. These are things friends and family have told me about me. I especially like the pairing of gentleness and fierceness: I'm not an aggressive or violent person, but I am intense and possess great resolve when necessary. After his wedding, Elessar was joking with his friends about how he wished, as a teen or young adult, to have a little cauliflower ear, just so people would know not to mess with him. I laughed and said that while I know it won't work on people like the police, who respond to charm and beauty instead, I have a certain tone of voice, low and edged and fierce, that I bring out only when I need someone to shut the fuck up and listen to me, and part of the reason it works is that no one expects me to talk like that. My brother wanted an obvious sign of intimidation while I use one that relies on surprise—the fierceness hidden beneath the gentleness.

Which Raptor Are You?

This one is less about my sisters' and my childhood and more just because I saw a whole bunch of raptors today at the bird program. But there's that fierceness again! And a result that connects more obviously to one of my favorite Shakespeare quotes: "Though she be but little, she is fierce!" I love the idea of being a small, agile, fierce raptor that dashes and races through and around trees, especially in places like untouched forest where so many beautiful and strange sights await discovery.
