into the weirdmageddon?
I'm gearing up to make tofu tacos for the first time, and I'm both excited and a little impatient for them to just be fixed and ready to eat, already. This, in a nutshell, may be one of the reasons why I will never be a truly joyful cook. Do I take pride in being a capable and occasionally creative chef? I do indeed. Would I also just rather someone else do that work so I can concentrate on eating it? Yes. So much yes.

But enough of those impossible daydreams! Let me get to the quizzes so I can get to the tacos. Sev and his son are out enjoying today's gorgeous weather, and I'm focused on cookery, so there's no fanciful origami today. I did tidy my library table, though, so today's parchments should be easy to find.

goblincore

you're just a liddle creacher. you canot chagne thi s. you probably have lots of trinkets and little objects that you like to fill your room with, and most of the time you find them in very odd places. your dream is to disappear into the woods and become a chaotic entity that lives in it, possibly with the help of a rodent companion.
Which "-core" Aesthetic Are You?

I could definitely see a good future as a chaotic entity with a rodent companion, but I have to admit most of the appeal of this result is its connection to Labyrinth, which is an aesthetic, story-wise, that I like very much. (Dangerous but not entirely wicked fae, strange travels in a strange land, lush decadence in unexpected places, found family, growing up, and seeds planted for future adventures.) If I remember correctly, though, the goblincore aesthetic involves a lot of moss and dreamy-dark forests and amphibians in still, eerie pools, like John Bauer illustrations brought to life. I wouldn't want to live in it all the time, but when I'm overwhelmed, that's often the sort of place I try to mentally step inside, breathing cool, damp air in the shadows until I find calm.

Great Uncle Ford

You got Ford! You're a very logical sort of person. Despite being so reserved (or even shy!), you have no problem being the leader when necessary. This is because you're so prideful. Though some self-confidence is good, at times it may weigh you down, even making you feel lonely. Chances are, you see yourself as some kind of "lone hero" that has to face your problems on your own. Let others help you out once in a while! There's no shame in reaching out to others, and you'll start to feel better yourself. All in all, your intelligence makes you a very interesting person to talk to, and people notice the effort you put into things, even if you don't realize it.
Which Gravity Falls Character are You?

I've tweaked my result to hide spoilers, just in case anyone stumbles on this quiz before they've watched the show, but now that I've finished all the episodes ("Finally!" says Dracling, who was, and may still be, obsessed with this show), I thought it was time to see which character I might be. ...I honestly was not expecting this result, though if I'd thought about it a little deeper, Ford would've been an obvious choice. He's so scientific and I am not, so I overlooked a lot of the ways in which we're pretty similar. But he's also me through a funhouse mirror of arrogance, which is something I've been making efforts to mitigate for at least 15 years. It is easier now than it used to be, but I am still a prideful person, and this result's comment on being a leader because of that pride is spot on. I can yield to others, but if no one else is as good at a thing as I am and I know it, I will jump in and take charge with ease. Fortunately, these many years of working around my pride has allowed me to feel much less lonely than Ford, and I hope when people think I'm an interesting person to talk to, that I work hard, they also walk away from with a sense of enjoyment at our interactions.

Leather

Perfumes based around the scent of leather are rich, deep, and authoritative. They evoke the glamour of competence: a fighter pilot's leather jacket, a thoroughbred's saddle, the leather-lined interior of a racecar. Classic leather perfumes include Knize Ten (a sweetened masculine leather), Piguet Bandit (a brash feminine leather chypre), and Chanel Cuir de Russie (a plush, elegant leather).
What’s Your Perfume Type?

I'm not familiar with those specific perfumes, but I do love a perfume that leans into more typically masculine scents: earthy, woody, even smoky. Leather fits right in. I'm not sure I've ever made the connection to competence—I'm usually thinking of their warm, golden notes, like candleglow or late afternoon sunlight—but that is an enticing element, and probably contributes to my feeling confident when I wear those sorts of scents.
