My fingers hurt. Finding new romance books to read at my pathetic local library is hard on the phalanges. Not to mention hard on my brain. *Why* don't authors have webpages? And *why* don't they have bloody lists of the books that are connected? There are few things worse than finding out halfway through reading a book that it's the penultimate volume in a series of sixteen. Gargh.
And I occasionally forget that I should never, *never* read the summaries on the backs of the books. And then I find myself knee-deep in phrases like "feisty maiden" or "irresistible, sinfully handsome rake" or "star-crossed lovers whose passion could be their doom." And then I have to remember that the books aren't nearly as bad as the summaries seem. And the characters are rarely so cheesy as they sound.
It's so much bloody *work*. Albeit for a lovely payoff in the end. Still...I'm sleepy. ::yawns::
