I have come to a resolution. After reading yet another *painful* piece of amateur fiction (what the hell are those characters doing acting like that?!?), and recognizing that any constructive criticism from me---or anyone, really---is simply not welcome, I have reached the end of my tether. I cannot, and refuse, to completely withdraw from the message board, but I will change the way I interact with its patrons.

If I don't have anything nice to say, I will not *make* *up* something nice. I will simply say nothing at all. And if I find a piece of (fan)fiction distasteful, I shall stop reading it. Full-stop. I do not owe these people my time or my thoughts or my assistance. They offer nothing in return. Not even intelligent discourse.
