i have a job!
Though I went in intending to interview for a bookseller position, they offered me lead position. Far as I can tell, that's basically like being an RA of books. It's an entry-level management position with better pay, so I'm delighted. ...And terrified.

I keep telling myself that they wouldn't have offered me the job if they didn't believe me qualified, but sometimes it's so hard to have faith in myself. There's so much room for doubt---what if I'm not (creative, responsible, assertive, capable, experienced, etc.) enough?---and so much fear of failure. I hate this about myself. And as many tactics as I employ to improve my mindset, the fear and the doubt persist.

"Why do we fall?" Yes, yes, I know.... Take it one day at a time, one moment at a time, one problem at a time. But I get ahead of myself, anyway. You are more than what you are. Yes. Yes, this is true. And thank God---literally---for that.

Prayer works best of all.

Congratulations!!!!
That is awesome news! I have complete confidence that you will do an excellent job, and I hope that you enjoy work. B&N is extremely lucky to have you. (Hence the better position)

But most important of all, do you get discounts on books? ;) heehee

I'm soo excited for you!! Yay!!

I *do* get discounts, as a matter of fact. I also get to check out any hard-cover book in the store for two weeks at a time. Which, considering the Library From Hell, is a blessing beyond compare. :D

And thanks for the confidence! I'm trying to keep telling myself that, yes, in fact, B&N *is* lucky to have me (dammit!). I only hope they don't put me in charge of the computer section. Can just see myself calling you and other computer folks in-the-know for advice on what the hell I'm doing. ;)

Congrads!
And always remember, "Flying is falling and missing the ground." Hope it is better than average retail hell. I am sure you are in all ways superior to the job.

I hope it's better than average retail hell as well. How I *hate* being told what to do. (Don't point, *hand* the customer the object...ask them if they need assistance...be prepared to help as many as five customers at the same time... huh? what the hell?) But then, I suppose that's work, ain't it?

No wonder I hate working. :)
