Thank heaven for widely read, generous coworkers possessed of large (and lendable) libraries. Sometimes I feel the opportunity to read a book is the greatest of blessings---most especially when I know I'd never have discovered said book on my own. Has anyone else read Katharine Eliska Kimbriel's Night Calls? And if not, may I heartily, heartily recommend it? That is...if you can find it....

I am *such* a librarian. :D

But that has nothing to do with why we're really here this day, the last of the Week of the Killer Quizzes. In its honor, we have an extra going-away quiz...and Sev has folded each parchment into some shape of origami. He's quite good, actually. Who knew?

Edward D. Wood, Jr.
Your film will be 46% romantic, 31% comedy, 37% complex plot, and a $36 million budget.

Ed Wood will get your film done waaaaay under budget, and will likely make it into a classic film of all time -- for all the wrong reasons. Let's face it, your life isn't terribly exciting to begin with, and it needs some camping up. His resume includes classics such as Plan Nine From Outer Space and Glen or Glenda? He's not afraid to tackle controversial topics, and may insist on portraying a transvestite in your film -- even if you've never seen a transvestite before. He was immortalized in the Academy Award winning Tim Burton film, Ed Wood -- go see it.

The Director Who Films Your Life Test

My life *could* use some camping up, that's absolutely true. Only...I'm a little nervous to see how that would turn out. I need to see Plan Nine From Outer Space, I think.

BLUES are motivated by INTIMACY, seek opportunities to genuinely connect with others, and need to be appreciated. They do everything with quality and are devoted and loyal friends and employers/employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to are their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and will give freely of themselves in order to nurture others lives.

BLUES, however, do need to be understood. They have distinct preferences and occasionally the somewhat controlling (but always fair) personality of a confident leader. Their code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy sharing meaningful moments in conversation as well as remembering special life events (e.g., birthdays and anniversaries). BLUES are dependable, thoughtful, nurturing, and can also be self-righteous, a bit worry-prone, and emotionally intense. They are like sainted pit-bulls who never let go of something once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere, make an effort to truly understand them, and truly appreciate them.
What Color Are You?

I'm sensing a trend....

You would look like this *points up*

What Would You Look Like Anime Style?

It's kinda like a gryphon. I'd be a gryphon-lady. Spiffy. I love gryphons.

Displaced Southerner
You are 79% true Southern!

You're pretty Southern, but something is keeping you from being a true Southern Belle or Gentleman. Maybe you've moved, or maybe your parents were Yankees and brought you up without ever taking you fishing or hunting or to Memaw's for chicken and black-eyed peas. You know your Southern facts and culture, but that literature still escapes you. And when you order tea at a restaurant, you expect it to come "unsweet." Yikes. Next time you have the chance, visit a classic Southern downtown area and spend an afternoon just soaking it in... Montgomery, Birmingham, Jackson, Natchez, Memphis, Charleston, Atlanta, or even New Orleans!

The Southern-ness Test

No, I *never* expect my tea to come unsweetened. I just really, really, *really* don't like sweet-tea. Yuck! But I do have every intention of visiting those southern downtowns. Especially those closest to Columbia, SC. :)

I could take you to Pelion and we could get burgers at Buddy's. :) There's one traffic light there - and when it was installed when I was in middle school, it made the front page of the Neighbor's section of the State Newspaper. Next August, I could take you to the Pelion Peanut Party, where we cook and serve over 3 tons of boiled peanuts (plain, salted, or cajun) over a weekend! Fun times! :)

Best laid plans.... I've not been anywhere other than Lexington since I moved here. Between work and school, I've not had time to explore any of the nearby cities. But! I'm going to Pelion for my Adopt-a-Library observation, so I'm thinking I'll have to make the most of it and tour the stoplight and Buddy's. (Burgers! Yum!!)

I won't be here next August, though. Unless I fly back for the Pelion Peanut Party, 'specially. Not a bad idea, that: I get to visit folks, eat peanuts, party. I like it....

When do you leave us?? I may have to chain you to the receiving room door.

Also, when you do your observation, don't be surprised at the number of familiar signage you shall see decorating the library. :) Some of the neat stuff I bring to Ma for her use. Especially if it's got dragons on it.

December. My internship is the only class I have left after this semester, and I'll be doing that in Texas. So come December, I shall be packing up my worldly goods and trucking them across the country again. Or halfway across the country, anyway.
