treasure and hunting
We have the neatest radio station here. It's alternative and some of the (IMO, better) 80s rock, but more importantly, it's subsidized. So no commercials. And they can---within reason, of course---play whatever they want: lesser known tracks of well-known artists, new artists, local artists. It's so much fun! I got to hear a Shawn Mullins song I've never heard before tonight. And no one plays Shawn Mullins anymore. Leastwise, not that I've heard. Plus, it's streaming! Online. How nifty is that?!

Also got to meet our B&N district manager today...and express my confusion over some of the differences in the way things are done. So at least that's off my chest. Although I'm left even more curious than ever over one little piddly thing: he said that the way publishers print dust-jackets is to read from face-out to spine, not spine to face-out. So, really, the face-out is supposed to be on the left and the spine on the right. And then the store manager said "ISO says it's on the right." Did he mean the spine or the face-out? Can anyone find out from an authoritative ISO source and tell me? 'Cuz it's driving me bleeding nuts. And I really, really, really don't think that way-publishers-print thing makes any sense. Anyone know about that, perchance?

I feel unutterably anal, but with my work world upside-down, I wanna know if it's them or me who's crazy. Oy.

And what's playing as I type this? Hmmm....

We just had ISO in yesterday and passed wonderfully, that is . . . with all spines on the right of the face out. And about the district manager, in my opinion, I don't think he knows the answer to your question. So, instead of saying, "I don't know, but I'll find out," he's saving himself the effort by merely making something up.

Tomorrow at work I will make a point to ask. Besides, I don't want you going CRAAAZZY over there without me as an accoplice! Crazy is so much more fun when we're together. . .

I love finding a great radio station! And no commercials? I don't think it gets much better then that. I'm listening right now, in fact, and enjoying it quite a bit.
