...who does want to live forever?
I just watched Highlander: the Source and this is what I have to say: I don't get it. I...don't get it. I...don't...get it.

Of course, that's not all I have to say. Which I'm sure doesn't surprise anyone.

Post-Apocalyptic Highlander World? Huh? And yet Joe Dawson's still alive? (And looking good.) When did this happen? When did Highlander World go to hell in a hand-basket? And where're all the other Immortals? What happened to Amanda? And for that matter, why on earth did MacLeod marry this other chick? Who *is* this other chick?

And why does it make any sense that she would leave the Love of Her Life just 'cuz she can't have kids with him? She clearly doesn't want to have kids with anyone else, so why leave him? And why does she want to bring kids into the evil Post-Apocalyptic Highlander World, anyway? Talk about the height of selfishness!

And what is with all the Super-Close-Ups!? Hel-lo! Part of the reason why we watch Highlander is to see all the hot men wielding swords and stuff. Not that their faces aren't pretty, too, but I'd like to see some MacLeod Body, thankyouverymuch. At least they gave me some Methos Body...and all wrapped up in leather and riding a motorcycle, too. Yum.

But apart from the wonderful Peter Wingfield playing him, Methos wasn't anything like his actual self. No snarky comments, which, personally, I think he'd be making more of now that the world is coming to an end. And no sense of brotherhood between Methos and MacLeod or even between Methos and Joe. What's up with that?! I mean, he actually told MacLeod that he'd leave him behind. That is *not* a Methos thing to do. Grrrr....

And what's with all the random cannibals? Is it just a given that post-apocalyptic worlds have lots and lots of cannibals? And fires? There're a lot of fires, too. What the hell?

And speaking of what the hell, why on earth does the Source provide little baby Immortals? What's the point? Why would there be a Post-Apocalyptic Event every 10,000 years or so just in order to try and produce a little baby Immortal? Is this little baby Immortal going to save the world? From a Post-Apocalyptic Event caused by the Source, itself? I don't get it. And is MacLeod still an Immortal? And why is the Guardian guy so evil? And how do they escape the cannibals still rampaging all around the place? Poor Immortal baby's probably gonna get eaten....

...But I did get to see Peter Wingfield (in leather!) and I was gratified to hear him say that he saw Christ teach and heal. And I didn't actually see him die, so it's entirely possible that he's still around, ready to help MacLeod, his woman, and his wee Immortal baby escape the clutches of the cannibals. At least that's something. But I think I'm going to have to watch old Highlander episodes if I want to see the real Methos again.

My favorite line of Oct. 21st.
"And what's with all the random cannibals? Is it just a given that post-apocalyptic worlds have lots and lots of cannibals?"

I am laughing my ASS off. TOO funny. And what the hell anyway. just the plotline of "Immortal Baby" I a HUGE cannon paradox. AND no Amanda? Not worth watching. Clearly.

Re: My favorite line of Oct. 21st.
Tell me about it! I *love* Amanda...and Amanda and MacLeod together? So much fun! There was absolutely no humor in the film whatsoever...and that's one of the things I love about the show. And yes...the Immortal baby just blows my mind. But then I looked at the writers and the director, and not one of them has worked on Highlander before. So I guess it's not all that surprising that the film failed to make even the slightest amount of sense.

Yeah, Amanda is awesome. I even watched the Raven for the 3 eps it lasted. And no funny either? I thought writers were supposed to do research. I mean seriously. And on another note. Do you know the Drop Date for S&S?

Whoa, I didn't even know that they made another Highlander movie. But your review was so entertaining. And, honestly, probably better then actually watching the movie (except for maybe Peter Wingfield in leather). I'd always wished I'd been more consistent with watching the show, but I don't even think my lack of knowledge would have made this movie much better.
