maybe something latin?
I've made a not-so-New-Year's resolution recently to write a little bit every day, and I've decided that the easiest way to do this is to create a livejournal just for my writing scraps. Unfortunately, the lj name I wanted comes up as "reserved," so I can't use it. Grr.

Does anyone have any writing-related lj names to offer? Something evocative or literary, obscure or word-nifty? I feel as though I have a mental block keeping me from coming up with something I like. And since I'll be using the thing every day for the foreseeable forever, I want to really, really like it. Help?

I love all words beginning with "I"
Phrases with "obscura"
the word "vivid"
The Tori Amos lyric "We scream in Cathedrals", but anything tori related will likely be tough to come by.
"Aut insanit homo, aut versus facit" - The fellow is either mad or he is composing verses. (Horace)

invividy
individua(l) obscura
Anno Verba - Year of the Word

Not tickled with any of those but they are a start.

ideogrammatic?

idiolect - http://m-w.com/dictionary/idiolectal

I'm voting for idiolect. Seems ultra appropriate.

You're so good! You have all these ideas, brimming to the surface all the time...and now they're swimming around in my head like Tetris pieces, trying to see where they fit. The idea of "aut_versus_facit" made me laugh, and I love your obsession with "i" words. (I'm a lover of words with "l" in them, myself.) Thanks so much, Czarina. I'll have to do a grand announcement when I finally come up with something that seems right.

I don't have any good suggestions for a new LJ handle, but I do have a link for you. :)

http://www.visuwords.com/

It's a dictionary of sorts. Also with word relationships. All presented in a very graphic and interactive way. Also, it's fun.

Also, the Latvian words for :
read - lasīt
write - rakstīt
writer - rakstnieks
author - autorse
library - bibliotēka
literature - literatūra
word - vārds

It's a very phonetic language, so the words are pronounced pretty much exactly as they look like they should be pronounced. :)

That is such a spiffy link. I've spent waaaaay too much time playing with it. (I love the random button...one time I got "mollymawk," which is apparently another word for albatross.) And thanks for the Latvian. I especially like "rakstit"...do you know the word for "leaf" or "leaves," just out of curiosity?

Leaf is lapa. Unfortunately, my Latvian/English dictionary is a very small one and doesn't give me plurals. But, if you like, I can ask my dad - he speaks it; his first language was Latvian.

And I am the Link Queen. ;p
