criminy....
Story is finished. Story is proofed (times twenty!). Story has been sent off to editing/decision-making folks. Good riddance. I rather hope it isn't bad rubbish, but maybe now I'll actually be able to participate in life again....

Hooray for being done and joining life again! Though, I feel completely out of the loop and have to ask, story for what? (And can I read it sometimes?)

I submitted a story to S&S 23, but---alas!---it was not accepted. (Cute story, they said, but lacking the proper "feel" for the anthology...which I rather suspected would be the case when I submitted it.)

And don't feel out of the loop: no one knew, not concretely, that I was submitting a story. And I was so, so late finishing it that I barely had time to get my dad's and Rose Red's opinions/suggestions/edits before the deadline. But now that it's not been accepted, I'm free to show it around, get more feedback, and make it better before I submit it...somewhere else.

So, yes, you can definitely, definitely read it. I would *love* for you to read it! In fact, expect it in your inbox very soon, indeed.... ;)
