well, that was unexpected....
I have white hairs. As in not-just-one, but many. At first I thought they were just very, very blonde hairs, as I have several of those on my head, but when I looked closer at them, they lacked the translucency of truly blonde hairs, and when I asked Rose Red to take a look, she confirmed that they are, indeed, white.

As far as I can tell, they're only to be found at my left temple, and since they're short and few in number, they aren't really noticeable. But my dad and his sisters went grey in their 30s, and so now I'm wondering if I'll be greying early as well. It's not so awful, since my dad's hair is a beautiful shade of silver, and such a color should blend well with the ashy tones of my hair, but it's still very, very peculiar to think that I might soon resemble some of my own fantasy novel characters. As if I'm not already Mary-Sue enough....

I actually found my first one ever too the last tiem I was at Mom's. I was really startled, and in the course of trying to see if it was white it fell out. Mom hugged me. I laughed given the fact that she's the opposite of your family. My mom just turned 66 and is now at the point where hers is grey enough to make her age. Until the last year or so she just had silver scattered about. You will get off lucky with your hair being so light. Is your dad blonde too?

I've had some white hairs for a couple of years now. I want to grey like my mom: she had an Elvira streak in her hair for the longest time. It was awesome to braid! And even if I don't get the Elvira streak, if I get the silver she's got, I'll be content.
