today on as the world turns
This must be the week for the weird and unexpected. First the startling advent of the Week of the Killer Quizzes, then Elessar breaks his leg, and now a near brush with an actual tornado. ::snort from corner:: Yes, Sev, I'm over-dramatizing a little: the tornado veered to the north shortly before it was due to pass through my area. But I was still librarian-in-charge while the storm raged---yes, *raged*---outside the branch, and I did get to prepare for a worst case scenario.

At any rate, the weather's a little quieter now, so there's nothing to keep us from getting to the quizzes. Right? No glow-in-the-dark ink on black parchment tonight, I'm afraid. ::grumble and ringing of glass against glass::

Victoria, Queen of England

Queen Victoria for me, too. But it's close with Marie Antoinette (I went back and changed one answer...)

I could see you as Marie Antoinette, I think. And I was a pretty big Snorks fan when I was a kid, so I'm all for you being the Snorks. :) And I *love* you as the Ghost Train. How utterly perfect!

Thanks, too, for your "Huzzah!!" :D And no worries---I'm not offended. (I believe in prayer, but even I rarely tell people I'll be praying for their loved ones. Thoughts and a huzzah are just as nourishing, I think.) And you've placed me squarely back at B&N with your talk of scrambling for flashlights. How I miss you, B&N + crazy weather!

Also, I hope your brother is doing better. I can't say that I'll be praying for him - but I will give him a rousing atheist 'Huzzah!!' I hope that doesn't offend - it's not meant that way.

I'm glad the tornado missed you. We had a wicked thunderstorm out this way this evening, too. Nothing so bad as to generate tornadoes, but still some impressive lightning. It's always fun to watch us scramble to find flashlights that are still working and/or batteries to put in them to see if they're working!

She was a great Queen who led England to victory against the Spanish and left her mark as one of the most positive absolute monarchs to have ruled England, which after the terrible 'bloody' Mary must have been a relief to the English people.

These are both so, so you, Czarina. I can't think of a better monarch for you than Elizabeth I, and you definitely have uniquely shaped ideas that grow to enormous size....

I was indeed well pleased with these. Also, don't worry about being Intrepid class. You totally surrvied the Delta Quadrant, the Borg Queen on at least 3 occasions, greatest recorded number of first contacts in the history of the fleet, and had a woman Captian,who while inconsistantly written, was a large step forward.
