work that has been done
Now that I'm done with work, it's time to relax with some chocolate milk and quizzes. Because, really, what could go better together? ::grumbling and slurping from corner:: Sev's a little irritated because...well, I ran out of little umbrellas for his usual drink and since he doesn't like his usual drink without the little umbrella, I made him a chocolate milk, but he doesn't like milk mustaches, so I got him a straw, and of course if you give Sev a straw you have to be prepared for him to blow bubbles in whatever he's drinking, and since that kind of annoys me, I asked him to stop, and so now he's slurping and muttering complaints, and I think it may be a long time before I forget to stock his little umbrellas again. Yeah....

Drawing

You're more on the quiet side, but once people get to know you, they become really good friends with you. You like just about everyone, even if you don't really talk to them. You live in a little bit of a fantasy world and sometimes space off.
What Type of Art Are You?

I'm not certain how much I "like just about everyone," but the rest of the result seems very like me. And what's really interesting is that although I'm not much of an artist, drawing is the type of art I enjoy the most.

You are Quickstep

Full of energy and excitement, you are pure joy personified.
You make people happy without even knowing why. Sometimes, you
jump up and down for no reason at all 'cuz you're just that zany!

Which Ballroom Dance Are You?

I don't know much about the Quickstep...except that no one on So You Think You Can Dance seems to be any good at it...but the description fits me fairly well. (I'm not sure I can judge how happy I make others, but I do like to jump up and down!) I only wish the Latin dances weren't so far down the list....

You're a Mongoose!

Famous and fabled, you are well-loved by those around you, especially those above you. You rise to many challenges, and your speed and agility allow you to outwit those you don't like and others hate. While you don't appear vicious, your unassuming appearance helps draw people into underestimating you. You really like the name Rikki.
The Animal Quiz

Awesome! I'd love to be a mongoose! (Such a lovely pun on my last name, too....) And I totally *do* have an unassuming appearance...I only hope it does draw people into underestimating me. Bwahahahaha!

Photography. "You're a person who loves to be out and about, always on the move. You're a real people person and love memories. You never forget a friend, even if they've moved away or you just grew apart from them. The outside world is where you like to be, creating memories that will probably last a life time."
---Well, photography is definitely my favorite art. I do *not* enjoy being always on the move - I'm still for hours and hours at a time with my books (though, I guess my mind is roving wildly and widely!). And it's true that I don't forget people I like. And I do adore the outdoors. :)

Viennese Waltz: "You are Viennese Waltz! Elegant and exhilarating, you are more fun than a barrel of really dizzy monkeys. You love merry-go-rounds, tire swings, and those office chairs that spin around. When you walk into a room everyone goes Ooooh! and Aaaah! and wishes they could be as awesome as you."

---I'm not elegant. I'm not sure if I'm exhilarating. Am I that much fun? But I do love love love whirly office chairs! :) And of *course* everyone wishes they could be as awesome as me! Also, you at least make me happy!

Hyena: "You have quite a sense of humor, though many others find it derisive rather than appealing. You are perceived as being a coward, but actually have moments of great bravery and have even stood up to those much larger than yourself. You like hanging out in groups and are always making a lot of noise. Disney thinks you are an idiot."
---Except for the group thing, this is about right, descriptor-wise. It's not entirely comfortable to be compared to a hyena, especially when you know what I know about their sex habits. (No, don't Google it; you don't wanna know. Yes, I am aware that I've made it all but impossible to not Google it with my previous statement. Sorry.) Oh, hell, if you insist, I'll provide a link, but don't say I didn't warn you:

***WARNING!!!***
What you are about to read is disturbing. You know how guys have a sympathetic reaction to another guy getting kicked in the balls? As a female, you will have a similar reaction to what is revealed in this article.

You know, I was totally prepared to take your word about the hyena thing until you posted the link. And then I had to click it. Yikes! ::shudders:: And I thought human births were painful. Sheesh. Which is a shame, really, 'cuz you *would* make an excellent hyena. (I got to scrub a hyena's cheeks with a bristly brush once at Columbia's zoo...that's almost completely irrelevant, but it's one of my favorite memories, so there it is!)

Photography and the Viennese Waltz suit you, as well. I certainly think you're exhilarating: you have just the right blend of intelligence and humor to make a conversation fresh and fun. And I distinctly remember when you walked in the door at B&N, everyone always seemed to perk up. So, see? Totally a Viennese Waltz!

I don't think I've had chocolate milk in years. I used to be partial to strawberry milk. Now I kind of want a milkshake...

Anyhoo, I'm drawing too! (It's so funny and reassuring that we end up with the same result on at least one quiz.) I didn't agree with the liking everyone bit either, because I know that I don't like everyone. They may think that I like them, but I don't. Ha.

Latin dances generally were at the bottom of my list as well. I think it's because I'm relatively chill and I always imagine Latin dances for dramatic people. (Though I suppose what really matters is the passion in that moment of dancing.) But you had a really high % for Quickstep while my top was only 67%. I wonder what that means. But I liked the description, especially the imagery of pure joy, which is how I would imagine you would dance.

On a totally random point, how did you get your ballroom dance quiz result to display so nicely? Did you just recode the html? Mine looks terrible, but I was also pretty lazy in the posting.

Woot for Mongoose!

It's been a long time since I've had chocolate milk as well, but my mom and Hermione brought some Oberweis chocolate milk back from Chicago. After I had some of that, I found I was craving some of my own. Not as good as Oberweis', but still very yummy.

As for the ballroom result, I ditched the code they gave me and used the one from the Stargate SG-1 quiz. The chap who made the Stargate SG-1 quiz seems to have a much better grasp of HTML. :) And I think you're right about why the Latin dances are so low on our results. It probably didn't help that I kept saying "No! That's not like me!" to all the you-are-passionate-and-like-to-fight-and-make-crazy-love-with-people-you-hate questions.

Woot for Mongoose! And Komodo Dragon! Just think of the Saturday morning cartoon show we could have!

YES! That would be an awesome Saturday morning cartoon! I think someone should make this.

Yeah, I think that's the reason I didn't have many Latin dances in the top. But I did somehow have the Samba as 3... weird. I thought it was funny how Waltz was so low, but Viennese Waltz was first.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to go back and fix my Dance quiz.
