deep greens and blues
I had no idea how much I depended on my midday cup of coffee until I went without today. I'm. So. Tired. And of course now it's too late in the day to introduce some caffeine, so I'm stuck in sleepy mode for the evening. I think I may just kick back and let Sev introduce today's quizzes.

What d'you have over there, Sev? Is that a cauldron? ::bubbling and hissing:: What are you...are you putting the parchment inside?! ::muttering and clang of glass against iron:: No, you go right ahead. I'm sorry. It's your show, my friend. ::hissing and whistling:: Oooh. What's it---? ::fizzing and flare of dancing lights::

You're an E-Wing!

Fast, powerful, and sturdy, you're the Alliance's newest and sleekest ship, the E-Wing fighter.
What Star Wars Starfighter Are You?

I dig it! (Not that I knew much about it, at first, but that's what websites like this are for, yes?) Fast, powerful, designed for a single pilot---all of which suits me---but the best part of the E-Wing is that they were brought into production during Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaign. Considering how much I love those books...and that they introduced Mara Jade...awesome!

You bet I love sunny days at the beach! I don't want to swim too much at that beach, but I want my swimsuit and my sarong and my flip-flops and my towel and my book and my sunglasses and my umbrella and my beach chair...sigh. I really, really, really want to be on a beach right now. If I can just wait 'til July....

Wood Element

66% Element

Your dominant element is Wood! Wood people are practical, ambitious, and at times, highly critical of themselves. Efficiency and achieving personal goals are high priorities for you. Wood people like antiques, wood furniture and natural colors; they also like to maximize the efficiency of their space and can do a lot with a small apartment or house. In the Productive Cycle of Feng Shui, Water nurtures Wood, while Fire destroys Wood. To bring some balance, introduce some water elements to your home, such as an abstract sculpture, an aquarium or some deep shades of blue or black. If you have an excess of Fire elements such as animal print, loud colors, or triangular shapes, try replacing a few of them with with colors and objects that represent Water.
The Feng Shui Test

It's hard to express how very, very much I love having wood in my home. I paint the walls to suit the wood more than anything else. So given that, it's interesting to read the rest of the result. I am highly critical of myself, and achieving personal goals is very important to me. I suppose my space is well-organized, although I hadn't really thought too much about that aspect of it. As for the water elements, I'd really enjoy having a small, softly plashing water fountain in my home, and my living/dining room furniture is all shades of slate blue and black, alleviated by an occasional earth tone. What's really interesting, though, is the fire elements stuff: of all the shapes in the world, triangles are probably my second-least favorite. (My fondness for right-angle triangles saves them from being my least favorite.) Nifty that my preferences align so tidily....

X-Wing all the way, baby! "All-around excellent, you're the backbone of the Alliance fleet, the X-Wing fighter."

I'm Novelty Underwear?! "You are a cheerful, fun-loving person person who loves to joke around and be the center of attention."
---Yes, the results did have 'person' twice. I like weird underwear (especially socks), but I do not like being the center of attention (hence the weird /underwear/ and not the weird /outer wear/!)

Fire. "Your dominant element is the Fire element. Fire people are spontaneous, creative and passionate. You life fast and to the fullest. Fire people tend to love bright colors and dramatic pieces of art; they also tend to be animal lovers. You may be into pop art, comics or vintage posters. In the Productive Cycle of Feng Shui, Wood nurtures Fire while Water is a destructive force in excess. To bring balance, try adding some Wood elements to your home such as wood carvings, wood furniture/flooring, dark greens and browns, and rectangular shapes. Minimize glassware, reflective surfaces, and blue/black color schemes. Cut back the clutter in your home in order to create a more relaxing space."
---Fire? Really? This comes as something of a surprise to me. I'm so used to thinking of myself as a Taurus: laid-back, earthy. Even though I'm on the Taurus/Aries cusp, I don't have a whole lot of Aries (which is related to fire). And, yes, I know that the Western Sun Signs have little to do with Eastern Feng Shui practices, but the results seem so polar opposite. Interesting!!

Wahoo! X-Wing! If we could only go joy-riding sometime.... And LOL about the novelty underwear. I can definitely see how you might be that, but the quiz author does seem to have missed the point. Oy.

As for the Western sun sign vs. Eastern Feng Shui, I can completely understand what you mean. I'm a Leo---fire sign---but the element I identify with the most is actually air, so it's strange to get Wood. And yet the description of that style is so very me. Weird.

We get to wear beachwear together!

I can totally see you being the wood element. (Which makes me think you should post some pictures of your place since I'm trying to visualize it and can't.) In a way I got the opposite of you for Feng Shui. You're suppose to eliminate fire and add water, and I'm supposed to eliminate water. But I'm supposed to add wood!

I've tried taking pictures of my apartment, but they always look...weird. I'm probably just not experienced enough a photographer to know how to frame the rooms so they reflect how the space actually feels. But maybe I can get Porthos to give it a shot. In any case, if you remember how my room looked when I still lived in Chicago, that's not too much different. Especially since I'm not permitted to paint the walls of my apartment. So while I've made the most of my furniture and art, it's still not quite decorated exactly as I'd like it. Someday, though! Someday!

Ah, well, I can understand that. I'm no photographer, so I can understand having pictures not look like what you'd want them to look like. But I do remember your room from Chicago. And I guess if I have to imagine what your place looks like, that's probably what I would do anyway. :)
