from tree to tree
Elton John's "Honky Cat" makes for some really good apartment dancing. That is, me dancing in my apartment. Not the apartment, itself, dancing. That would make me just a little suspicious about the nature of Elton John's talent.

And while I'm here, and kind of speaking about magical beings, is anyone besides myself familiar with the various types of faerie folk? [livejournal.com profile] princesse_stamp is doing a faerie-type theme at the moment, and it's made me wonder, first, whether I'm the only one who immediately thinks of the Sidhe instead of Tinkerbell. (Although she's hardly sugar and spice and everything nice, either.) And, second, what would I be within the realms of the Seelie and Unseelie Court? Does anyone else have any ideas what they would be? Bean sidhe? Phouka? One of the Daoine Sidhe? Or a fey from an entirely different folklore? Any thoughts?

Do you just mean the various Irish/Scottish/English faerie folk, or do you mean faerie folk from all over? I am familiar with most of the first set and fair number of the whole set.

No, you are not. Tinkerbell is way far down on my list when it comes to thinking of faeries. If we're talking about 'fairies' then Tinkerbell gets a little higher on the list, but not much.

You would be in the Seelie Court. Though that, of course, doesn't make you necessarily nice. Or evil, for that matter. But definitely beautiful.

Me? Clurichaun.

I was thinking of the whole set, although I'm mostly familiar with the Irish/Scottish/English fey. (There is so much less reading material available on the Scandinavian, Persian, German, etc. faerie folk, which is a shame.) And I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't immediately think of Tinkerbell. :)

I love the thought of you as a Clurichaun. That was one of the fey I wasn't familiar with, but as soon as I read the description, I thought, "Of course!" A Clurichaun suits you down to the ground. And thank you for your so-flattering interpretation of my faerie nature! I could be a member of the Daoine Sidhe, but they seem a little lofty for me. Perhaps I'd make an admirable Selkie or Fylgia. (Although if I were a little more evil, I think I'd want to be a Huldra.)
