thinking to myself
I stumbled on this article today and thought it a rather entertaining read. If their factors make for a checklist of happiness, that might explain much of my generally optimistic mindset. Certainly, I'll enjoy justifying my preference for quaffing hot drinks in hot weather with, "It's scientifically proven to make me happier!" And I'm feeling more than a little honored not only to have sisters, but to be one.

And with that in mind....

Day 05: A song that expresses how you're feeling right now
This has been a rather mad day, actually. Work was emotionally if not occupationally hectic, and I was still feeling buzzed and anxious when I got home. After a few hours reading and the opportunity to shape words of my own, though, I'm feeling pleasantly mellow and at peace.

"Keep" - Gary Jules

"Keep" is the hidden track on Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets, and as much as I love all the songs on that album, it's definitely my favorite. It's cool and slinky and I can't listen to it without dancing, shrugging all thought to sink into the movement of the music.

I'm so happy you're enjoying it! And, yeah, Gary Jules is a fly-under-the-radar sort of artist, I think. My first encounter with him was the song "Mad World" at the end of Donnie Darko. That was the main reason I bought this album, but it's actually very different in sound from the other songs. Not that I mind: every single track is worth listening to, and many of them rank among my favorite songs of all time.
