plant a new beginning
I love Sundays. Especially Sundays that start with brunch, continue with discussions about which mythological creature each family member would be---so far, Rose Red's a unicorn, Dragon's a gold European-style dragon, Hermione's a hippogriff, Elessar's a griffin, and I'm a phoenix---and end with my dad's famous fried rice. Yum!

Day 08: An album you can listen to from beginning to end without skipping any tracks
I have a lot of these, but the one that comes immediately to mind is Sixpence None the Richer's self-titled album. This is the album containing "Kiss Me," but while I don't mind that song, it's not really representative of the band's sound. The other tracks are alternately meditative and impassioned, plaintive and triumphant, and always complex and richly textured. The latter half of the album is especially interesting, each song flowing organically into the next, building momentum to the defiant "Moving On" before subsiding once more into sweetness with "There She Goes."

I totally remember you telling me about this album way back when you were still up north. I think we spent part of an evening listening to some of the songs. I always think of you when I hear Sixpence None the Richer.

I'm glad you have positive memories of the evening. :) I cringe to remember all the times I used to force people to listen to music I love; I can only hope they got *something* enjoyable out of all my rabid music fangirling! It's funny, though: there's a song on the Sixpence album following this one, "A Million Parachutes," (http://www.google.com/url?q=http://s0.ilike.com/play%23Sixpence%2BNone%2BThe%2BRicher:A%2BMillion%2BParachutes:197037:s17135718.8523443.2585.0.2.96%252Cstd_b53239b947bd46ba840889012a74cdba&sa=X&ei=7ki2TOmTGsOblgf4q4TxBQ&ved=0CAcQ0wQoADAA&usg=AFQjCNEQ9Gi24JrCcvL0Vbp_LDBdr_dW2A) that echoed so perfectly how I felt about leaving y'all in Chicago that I listened to it nonstop when I first moved down here.
