Day 28: The music you listened to growing up
I'm sure my parents played their classic rock LPs when I was a kid, but that's not really the music I remember growing up. The music I remember was what we heard on the radio---in the car, at the parties my parents threw, in my bedroom while Rose Red and I played with our Barbie dolls. So mostly that was 80s music (Wham!, Toto, Quarterflash, Michael Jackson, Eurythmics, The Police, Tears for Fears, Starship, a-ha, Mr. Mister) with a smattering of soft rock (Lionel Ritchie, Gerry Rafferty, Bruce Hornsby, Rick Astley, James Taylor) thrown in. Those songs never fail to breathe vivid memory into specific moments from my childhood.

Hooray for 80s music! I still love listening to it. It's some of my favorite sing along music. Have you seen the literal Take on Me? And do you remember that horrible bust of Lionel Ritchie in that video? Sigh, the 80s.

I know! So wrong!!

I love the literal "Take on Me!" So hilarious!! I don't remember which one of the gang showed it to me first, possibly Tim, but I've watched many times since.
