blame it on my western origins
For the faint of heart or momentarily impatient, I'll offer the warning that this post falls into the Specialized and/or Narrow Interest category....

That said, SQUEEEEEE! ::hops up and down::

As you might be aware, I'm kind of into stamping communities. As you might also be aware, I'm kind of into Zuni fetishes. (I have a small collection of the latter and a rather large collection of the former.) And since the stamping community [livejournal.com profile] eternal_seer is currently doing a Zuni Fetish theme, I'm a little excited at the moment. Especially since I made the stamps...which I'm rather proud of, despite their lack of graphic design sophistication.

As nifty as it is that I'll be getting a Zuni fetish stamp, though, what I'm really thrilled about is the opportunity to share my love of this type of art. I know it's not everyone's cuppa, and it's certainly not mainstream, but I hope it resonates with a few people.

The stamps look great! I never knew you collected Zuni fetishes. What animals do you have in your collection?

Do you know yet what you got stamped? I know you enjoy the stamping communities, but I don't think I know what most of your stamps have been.

Thank you! And, yes, I have a very, very tiny collection---a raven, which looks almost identical to the raven I used in the stamp; a fox (http://www.zunispirits.com/2009/0530.html); and a wolf made from labradorite that I can't find online anymore, alas. They're rather expensive, but that's probably a good thing: who knows how many I'd have by now, otherwise. :)

As for the stamp, no I've not been stamped yet. [livejournal.com profile] eternal_seer is not a very active community, unfortunately, so it may be several weeks before I get enough votes to be stamped. If you're curious, though, all the other stamps I've received can be found here (http://in-omnia.livejournal.com/41807.html), accompanied by my (occasionally snarky) commentary. Most of the time they're accurate, but every once in a while, I'll get stamped as something that doesn't make any sense. (I was recently stamped as "Snow White" in a fairy tale theme, and as far as I can tell, the only reason for it is that I mentioned a cottage and a jealous villain. Every other aspect of my application was the complete opposite of "Snow White.") When that happens, the whole stamp thing loses a lot of its appeal.
