such grace! such poetry!
Curse you, Ioan Gruffudd! Well, not really. You're awesome, really. But the fact remains that if it were not for you, I would not be wasting 45 minutes each week watching Ringer in all its cheesy soap operaness. But you...somehow there is magic in just the tilt of your head and the way you say, "What is it, Siobh?" Maybe it's all those years as Horatio Hornblower. Maybe it's the fact that you're Welsh. Whatever it is, you make every other actor on that show, except perhaps Jaime Murray and Tara Summers, look as though they're trying too hard. I only wish I didn't have to wait so long for every scrap of screen time.

They are, indeed! So much talent on a show with so much soap. Alas. And I know exactly what you mean about Sarah Michelle Gellar. I wasn't a Buffy fan, so I tend to watch her performance without much of an opinion one way or the other. So far, I haven't been terribly impressed. She seems to know she's on a soap opera and delivers her lines with accompanying melodrama, whereas whenever Ioan, Jaime, or Tara speak, I immediately forget I'm watching a cheesy show and actually find myself convinced that Real, Honest Stuff is happening.
