insert drinking problem joke here
Does anyone have a trick for incorporating more water in their diet? I know I need to drink it, but I hate the way it tastes and I hate the way it sloshes around in my stomach. I don't want to go the vitamin water or gatorade route, since there's usually a bunch of stuff in those that my body doesn't really need, but I'm not sure what my alternatives might be. I've been trying to make drinking water a daily goal, but daily goals and I don't really get along all that well. I think I refuse to meet them purely out of some misguided need to prove to myself that I'm daring or rebellious or something. (Woo! Living so dangerously! No water *today*! Yeah!) ...I know. Ridiculous. Any suggestions?

P.S. Happy 50th birthday, Mulder!

Use some True Lemon or True Lime packets to flavor the water. Or, you know, real lemon or lime. Or, go my favorite water route and drink Metro Mint water. I love mint water.

Ooh. Mint water. That sounds very doable. And doesn't seem to have any junk in it that I don't want. Excellent! I might try some of the True Grapefruit or True Orange flavors, too. I'm not much of a fan of lemon or lime in my water, but I've had really good experiences with orange and grapefruit. Thank you, Lissa!

I didn't realize they'd made more True flavors!

And I swear by mint water. Whether or not it's Metro Mint - just crushing some good mint leaves and straining water through them is a good (and cheap!) way to get some good flavor in.

You're quite welcome!

Have you tried rosemary and orange in water? I'm not much of a rosemary fan---though I like the way it smells---but slicing an orange and bruising some rosemary and letting it steep for a little while makes for a surprisingly thirst-quenching water. I'd use that to flavor my water, but it seems a mite wasteful. ...Though I suppose I could eat the orange and use the rosemary to purify my apartment after the water has been consumed. :)

And don't call me Shirley
I feel the same exact way about water. Which is why I don't drink enough either. If you like cucumber, I've had that in water too and it's pretty tasty. I also like drinking carbonated water, but I suppose that's not as natural as other options.

Heeheehee
I wish I could drink carbonated water, but it tends to make my stomach unhappy. I do like cucumber, though! Do you just slice it and stick it in the water and drink or does it need to steep for a bit? (If you can call cold cucumber sitting in cold water "steeping.")
