nitwit! blubber! oddment! tweak!
I hate to say it, but I think there is such a thing as too much reading. In the time since I woke up yesterday morning, I have read The Princess and the Hound by Mette Ivie Harrison, Sword-Dancer by Jennifer Roberson, and the graphic novel of The Last Unicorn. That's a grand total of 855 pages. Not that the pages matter so much...but the characters and the worlds and the words. So. Many. Words. And they're not cooperating and flooding back out of me again in a torrent of creativity. No. They're sloshing around in my head, making my mind feel muzzy and sluggish...just like too much water on an empty stomach. Blegh.

I think I need to do something else for a while. Like algebra.

I LOVE the Sword Dancer series by Roberson!! How'd you like The Princess and the Hound? I have yet to read the GN of The Last Unicorn, but it is definitely on the List.

The Last Unicorn is *beautiful*, even for a graphic novel, and I've already ordered book two in the Sword Dancer series. There's just something about those partnership-UST series, especially those harkening back to the sword and sorcery style. Yum! As for The Princess and the Hound, I really liked it. I think I was expecting more princess, but rather than being a disappointment, George's story completely sucked me in. I cared about the princess---and her hound, of course---but I really wanted to see what decisions George made for himself and his kingdom, how he matured into his abilities and whether he managed to stay himself. In that way, the book reminded me a lot of Megan Whalen Turner's Queen's Thief series. Overall, a very positive 36 hours of books. :)
