stepped up on the platform
I believe this is the first time I've started a Week of the Killer Quizzes on Elessar's birthday. So in honor of him, today's quizzes are Elessar-themed!

Pretzel Logic

Album: Pretzel Logic (1974)

You're dying to tour the southland and to be a star, to sound just like a record on the phonograph... You're a bluesy groove of goodness, minimalist, steady, and heavy. You're nostalgic for a dusty, sunbaked, bygone era - but those days are gone forever, over a long time ago.
Which Steely Dan Song Are You?

Huh. Bluesy and minimalistic, good and weighty, nostalgic and sunbaked...I'd say that's a pretty good summary of myself. And it's a Steely Dan song I love, too.

You are the Sun!

The strength and serenity of your heat is not violent, but rather strong and constant. Oh, you'll burn the life out of anyone who touches you. But you provide sustenance and strength to those who bask in you.
What Tattoo Are You?

This explains so much. No wonder it's so hard to find people willing to touch me---I burn folks up! But at least I'm strong and serene and warm and sustaining. I s'pose that's good. For anyone brave enough to close the distance, anyway....

You are a Stout

You have a dry sense of humor and can be pretty bitter. That's why you like chocolate to mellow you out a little bit and sweeten you up. Above your dry humor, you can be quite the smooth talker. The simpler things in life make you happy; anything too complex just gets in the way. The most common stouts are Irish Stouts, but there are also English, American, Milk, and Oatmeal Stouts. They usually have a creamy and smooth body and range from lightish to heavy. The most common flavors detected are chocolate, coffee, and burnt toast. Unless it's an imperial stout, they have average alcohol levels to make for good drinking sessions. You might be: Guinness, Beamish, Samuel Smith, Young's Double Chocolate, Barney Flats, Murphy's, Mackeson XXX, or Mephistopheles.

Result Breakdown:
86% You are a Stout
68% You are a Wheat Beer
66% You are a Belgian Ale
63% You are a Barleywine Style Ale
54% You are an India Pale Ale (IPA)
49% You are a Pilsener/Pilsner
35% You are a Variety Pack
24% You are a Macro Lager
What Kind of Beer Are You?

I *love* stouts! So smooth, so chocolate-bitter-y, so subtle and nuanced and basic and yummy. Though it's interesting to interpret them in the context of dry humor and an appreciation for the simpler things in life. Overall, an excellent result; even the runners-up are accurate!

And now I suppose I should go call my brother and wish him a happy day. 'Til tomorrow!

Steely Dan song? Appropriately enough... :)

GODWHACKER
Album: Everything Must Go (2003)
In the beginning, you could hang with the dude, but now God's attitude is getting on your nerves, and you've taken it upon yourself and your acolytes to dole out some whup-ass. It's his own fault, you say. You stalk with panache and confidence and - dare we say? - pride... You make everybody want to boogie. GodWhacker's on the case!

Tattoo?

You are the Tribal Mask! Reverberating drum beats through the soles of your feet take you back to an ancient fireside. In that place you know dancing, frenzy, and ecstasy. The Tribal Mask helps you stay in touch with the vibrations within the earth from which you draw your energy.

Beer? This one is accurate, too. I LOVE Chimay. (The darker one.)

Belgian Ale 74%
You have quite a complex personality, which is what makes it easy for many different people to get along with you. Of course, the other side is there are those who think you're too wild for their taste. You tend to be sweet and sometimes even a little spicy (ooh la la!) and you never get too bitter at the world. Most Belgians we talk about are the Dubbels, Tripels, Quadrupels, and Pale Ales. They tend to be strong in flavors of malts, dark fruits, and spices and have a decent alcoholic kick. You might be: Grimbergen Dubbel, Westmalle Tripel, Orval, Trappistes Rochefort 10, Chimay, or Konings Hoeven Quadrupel.

You are a Stout 66%
You are a Barleywine Style Ale 65%
You are an India Pale Ale (IPA) 58%
You are a Wheat Beer 46%
You are a Variety Pack 31%
You are a Pilsener/Pilsner 18%
You are a Macro Lager 4%

Of course "Godwhacker," and I love that your tattoo result connects you to earth. As for the beer, I think I'll have to try Belgian ales sometime. That description is intriguing, to say the least!

You should totally try Belgian ales. Tasty things. Not quite as full-bodied as stouts, but just as flavorful.

Ooh, yum! And you recommend Chimay?

Oh, yes. It's not cheap, so I only buy it once in a while. The one I prefer comes in a blue bottle.

That sounds vaguely familiar. I believe you may have mentioned that before...you may even have mentioned it to me before, in which case, I apologize for being a slowtop. :) But in any case, I'll have to pick some up the next time I'm at the store. Excellent!

You'll have to tell me if you like it! Next time we're in the vicinity of each other, there may have to be a beer tasting. :)

That sounds splendid! My brother's been introducing me to new beers/ales/stouts/etc., and for a girl who doesn't like beer very much, I'm finding I enjoy drinking some of it very much indeed. :D
