After 30 days of focusing on music, I find I'm having a little trouble letting go. In the interest of easing back into normal life---and normal lj entries---I have a meme. Yes. Another music meme. Just think of it as hair of the dog....

1. Reply to this post and I will assign you a letter.
2. List/upload five songs you love that begin with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

[livejournal.com profile] ludzu_alus, by way of a most complicated and charmingly random process involving a Robin McKinley book, has assigned me the letter E. After some thought, and perusal of my music collection, this is what I've come up with:
Almost all the songs that immediately came to mind were from the 80s or thereabouts. In fact, if you want an entirely 80s-ish playlist, just sub in "Everlasting Love" by Howard Jones and "Electric Blue" by Icehouse for the two more recent songs. Apparently the letter E was rather popular that decade.

Yay for the Piña Colada song! :) And, yes, the earlier Fables issues were the ones I read while listening to Nikka Costa's album. Although I may have misspoken a little: while "Everybody Got Their Something" fits the tone of the graphic novels, the song "Like a Feather" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiI_caFfquA) is what really, really reminds me of them. Something about it suits Rose Red, and since she plays a fairly prominent role in the first few issues, I can't help identifying Nikka Costa's music with the rest of the series.

Also, I found a couple 30-day memes for books---here (http://community.livejournal.com/book_memes/60412.html) and here (http://tbosky.livejournal.com/57551.html)---but I'm not sure which sort of questions suit the kind of book-sharing we want. I'm thinking we'll end up making our own meme, sampling a little of each, but which list has more of the kind of questions you'd want?
