My traveling (reading) companions and I read two chapters deeper into The Fellowship of the Ring today, so by rights I suppose I should be posting Tolkienesque quizzes tonight. Alas, finding good Tolkien quizzes is proving to be time-consuming, so while Sev tracks some down, I'll go ahead and share these:
Hence my inability to watch horror movies. Or read scary stories at night. Or float on my back in the deep end of the swimming pool. (Sharks!) ...But it does keep me from getting bored...and allow me to imagine all sorts of fun and fascinating worlds...and assist me in my writing. So I suppose I'll keep it. ;)
See? This is why I need my active imagination. When you're a steadfast and reliable, rooted sort of person who's going to live a really long time, you have to be able to dream your way beyond your immediate surroundings. This is true, though: classic, preferring the country to the city, providing strength...I've even shifted into a more giving style of life in the last few months. But, oh, how I miss white oaks....
I do love little feminine touches like floral patterns and beading, and the description captures my INFP and Persephone self exactly right. Excellent job, quiz!

You Are Most Like a White OakPredictable and reliable, White Oaks can live as long as several hundred years. They bear acorns, sometimes so many that they make a drumming noise when they fall. The tiny new leaves of the White Oak are pink-colored. Its wood is useful for making many items, including Japanese martial arts weapons. White Oaks don’t like urban conditions, preferring a more rural life. This native is the state tree of Illinois. |
